Worldwide mega event Expo 2020 Dubai (UAE) that from October 1, 2021 till March 31, 2022 hosted more than 190 countries has just ended. It was a time to create, collaborate and innovate. One of the participating countries was LATVIA.
Global moto of a once-in-a-lifetime event Expo 2020 was CONNECTING MINDS CREATING THE FUTURE. It was the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region. Visitors experienced warm Emirati hospitality at its finest, as well as the UAE’s values of inclusion, tolerance and cooperation.
The pavilions of the countries of the world were divided into five global districts and in three of them the main thematic pavilions were located:
MOBILITY – by enabling smarter movement of knowledge, ideas and goods, a new world of possibilities unfolds. Expo 2020 looked at how this has helped to explore new frontiers, and how humanity is making greater leaps than ever through digital connectivity.
SUSTAINABILITY – the need to live in balance with the world has never been more critical. Expo 2020 embraced alternative sources of food, water, and clean and renewable energy, and encouraged to reassess how we can preserve the planet.
OPPORTUNITY – everyone has the power to shape the future. Expo 2020 aimed to unlock this potential in multiple ways, such as supporting solutions to pressing social problems across the world through the Expo Live program, and introducing visitors to new ideas that inspire and empower them to act.
Pavilion of Latvia in Expo 2020 was located in the Opportunity District and was made to guide the visitors through Latvia’s story and showcase the offer of Latvian companies.
